GCHM 2022
It was an exceptional opportunity to join the GCHM program at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. Throughout the program, I met many colleagues and instructors with impressive experience from around the world. The four modules of the GCHM were designed in a way to enable every physician and healthcare professional to play a significant role in any organization.
Since graduating, I have applied what I learned from the Quality Improvement course within my own organization, as the Quality Coordinator representing my department, during two very integral International Accreditations. The process used for one of the International Accreditations was the very topic of my Capstone project in the GCHM program. I am so proud to be part of this team and apply my own work from the Capstone project and bring it to reality.
The GCHM is not only helping healthcare workers to learn skills to improve practice, but it also builds up the confidence to move from your comfort zone to the learning and growth zone.

The Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management (GCHM) was an astounding experience. I joined the program as a Nurse Clinician with no prior knowledge or experience in operations management, quality improvement, finances, or negotiations. All I knew was I wanted to learn to be a better leader, to help guide my colleagues and me through a healthcare system that not only provides excellent care for our patients but supports the growth and wellbeing of the entire staff.
Today, I am grateful to the GCHM program for imparting to me the skills and knowledge that have allowed me to take on the role of a Project Manager within my organization. I am humbled to help lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives throughout the hospital.
Along with my career growth, this program has also provided me the incredible opportunity to obtain direct entry into the world-renowned International Masters for Health Leadership (IMHL) program where I can complete the credits for a master’s degree and continue my growth and learning to the next level.

The support we received throughout the entire program was outstanding, from the Reflection Memos to the Capstone. I had no previous experience writing these and I attribute my success to the mentors I had the privilege to work with.
The program was amazing, and it has had a tremendous impact on my life and career. From a professional standpoint, it has given me the tools necessary to navigate and effect change within my organization. It has allowed me to gain a better understanding of some of the institutional and organizational policies and I am now considering some other leadership roles which, since completing the program, I feel better prepared for.
From a personal point of view, I find myself implementing some of the principles we learned during the program in my daily life, whether by reflecting on daily interactions with peers or during the negotiation process when buying a new vehicle. Most importantly, I have made new connections and gained new friends from all over the world.
