Anesthetic machines and accessories are available to use in CMARC facilities at no cost.

Laboratory personnel must provide their own isoflurane. Isoflurane can be purchased through the CMARC pharmacy.

The anesthetic machine must be returned with a full isoflurane reservoir. If the reservoir is not full at the time the machine is returned, the cost of isoflurane will charged to the user.

The anesthetic machine and its accessories should be returned in their original state. If material is found to be missing or damaged, it will be charged to the user.

Machines used in Biocontainment Level 2 room require disinfection of the anesthetic machine and gas sterilization of its components. Charges will be assumed by the user.

Booking the anesthetic machine

For Goodman Cancer Centre, Genome, and McIntyre facilities, the anesthetic system is automatically reserved when booking a hood in the procedure room.

To reserve the anesthetic machine in other areas, complete theÌý Anesthetic Machine RequestÌýform.ÌýSubmit all requests by e-mail to rts.arc [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Anesthetic%20Machine%20reservation) at least 5 working days prior to date required. An e-mail confirmation will be sent.
