From June 2nd to 4th, 2021, we held the virtual workshop "Digital Innovation Symposium: Building Capacity for a Learning Healthcare System".
We invited our attendees to share work in the area, identify the challenges faced and the resources you needed to strengthen digital health and data analytics. Deliberations included digital health implementation and evaluation of its impact on the micro (individual level), meso (organizational level), and macro (health system level) outcomes.
Over the three days, we reviewed our current strengths at McGill and our affiliated hospitals, identifying additional resources needed to conduct digital health research more efficiently, improving outcomes that matter most to patients, and controlling rapidly escalating costs. The discussions informed the mission and goals of the Institute, and deliberations will be synthesized in a forthcoming white paper outlining our collective insights on the best path forward.
