Each year, the students of McGill’s School of Continuing Studies nominate and award instructors with the Award for Distinguished Teaching. This year, instructors Georges Bryson and Dr. Zachary Abram were awarded the 2018 Award for Distinguished Teaching. Their teaching methods, real-world experience and world-class abilities inspired their students to nominate them for the award, one of the highest honours for instructors at the School.

It’s official: our Supply Chain and Operations Management students are a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. A team of four students took first place and a €10,000 cash prize at the Final of the Global Student Challenge in Zwolle, the Netherlands.

Team members Nasim Changizi, Nasim Darabi, Shahryar Ebrahimi and Ahmad Kianimoghadam are all students in the School’s program.

Students completing the Graduate Diploma in Translation (GDIT) must sit a comprehensive examination at the conclusion of the GDIT Program. The examination consists of an oral defense of a best-work portfolio. This portfolio represents a record of progress made by the candidate throughout his/her studies. Each candidate prepares a written introduction and comments on selected examples of coursework with a view to demonstrating his/her progress toward greater translation competence.

Dr. James Archibald has been appointed to the ISO/TC 37 mirror committee on language and terminology in . The Standards Council of Canada is the Canadian arm of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the ISO/TC 37 has published internationally recognized standards on a variety of translation-related issues and technologies.
