Library notices to faculty and staff: McGill Email Address will henceforth be used
Published: 22 August 2007
To better serve faculty and staff, beginning August 22, 2007, the library will simplify the way in which it sends notices for recalls and items due.
In general, library notices will now automatically be sent to active McGill Email Addresses. Please note that, as a result, it is no longer possible to enter any email addresses manually into your library account.
- If you have an active McGill Email Address (firstname.lastname [at] mcgill.ca) all library notices will be sent to this address, even if you have manually entered a different email address into your library account.
- To activate your McGill Email Address, go to the McGill Email Address web page for information about how to set up and use your McGill Email Address.
- If you are not sure about the status of your McGill Email Address, contact ICS Customer Support online or by phone at 514-398-3398.
- If your McGill Email Address account is inactive and you manually entered another email address into your library account before August 22, library notices will continue to be sent to the non-McGill email address account, unless your McGill Email Address account is activated. to your library account to check which email address the Library has on file for you.
- If you do not have an active McGill Email Address and have never entered an email address in your library account, the email field in your library account file will be blank. In this case, library notices cannot be sent to you via email. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to activate your McGill Email Address.
