H. Patrick Glenn awarded the Prix Léon-Gérin
At a ceremony held November 8 at the National Assembly in Quebec City, was awarded the Prix Léon-Gérin.
This prize, awarded to a researcher in the social sciences, is one of the 11 prestigious Prix du Québec presented annually by the Quebec government to scientists in recognition of outstanding contributions to their field or in honour of a distinguished career.
The jury underscored the notable contribution of H. Patrick Glenn to comparative law in an era where globalization and the abolition of borders has required a redefinition of the discipline. They noted in particular his seminal book Legal Traditions of the World (Oxford University Press, 2000), as well as his most recent publication, On Common Law (2005).
