The Future of Robotics:
An Artificial Intelligence Perspective
Prof. Wolfram Burgard

Over the past years, the robotics community has steadily grown and an impressive number of systems, techniques, and applications have been developed. In this presentation, I will start with the broad vision of robotics, describe the principles and basis of several problems and example solutions  in which we are developing of autonomous robots where, from my point of view, potential short-term innovations can be expected in the near future. I will discuss several aspects of these problems which make the development of truly autonomous robots challenging and present key technologies, from which I expect the most substantial influence onto the field of robotics.
