Hereditary Gynecologic Surveillance Clinic

The Hereditary Gynaecologic Surveillance Clinic was established in 2003 with the objective of making early detection and prevention services available to women who have been identified as being at a higher risk of developing gynaecologic cancers.

This multidisciplinary approach ensures that women who have a mutation associated with gynaecological cancer risk are offered routine as well as investigational screening methods (including gynaecologic examinations), follow up appointments with the Division of Genetic Services, and additional educational resources to help them make informed decisions about their health. Occasionally, opportunities to volunteer for research studies will also be available to these patients.

To participate in this clinic, women must first be evaluated by the Cancer Genetic Services at the Cancer Prevention Centre or present a letter confirming genetic evaluation at another institution.

All of the information provided to our staff and participation in the Hereditary Gynecological Surveillance Clinic is strictly confidential and is not disclosed to any third party including to other medical professionals without your consent.

To learn more, or if you have additional questions about the Hereditary Clinic or concerns about your family history of cancer, please contact the Centre.
