Dr. Michael Vance聽

While at McGill as Visiting Professor in the Department of History and Classical Studies, Professor Vance will study the 93^rd聽Sutherland Highland Regiment鈥檚 deployment in Montreal from 1844-1846. His research aims to understand the relationship between the regiment and the wider Montreal community as well as the role of the Scottish regiment in asserting British control during the colonial period. 聽In addition, Professor Vance will be studying the disproportionate role that working-class Scots played in the Communist Party of Canada between the First and Second World Wars.聽
