Prepare for an Internship Interview Workshop

This workshop will help you prepare and plan for successful interviews. Boost your confidence with interview preparation tips and explore the similarities and differences between interviewing virtually and in-person.

By attending this workshop, you will learn how to:

1. Prepare prior to an interview and know what constitutes post interview etiquette

2. Develop strategies for communicating your skills and experience in an interview

3. Identify resources for preparing and practicing, to help build your confidence

Are you thinking of applying for an internship? Learn how to write a cover letter that will highlight your strengths as an applicant! Feel free to come with questions about your cover letter!

Now that you are back, how do you take advantage of the opportunity to turn that internship into a promising career? Whether you’ve got your eye on a particular job in your field or you are still exploring possibilities, now is the time to start thinking about it, and planning for it.

  • To use insight into your work self to select which full time jobs to apply to

  • To leverage your internship accomplishments while applying to full time jobs

  • To apply your motivation and commitment from your internship to your full-time job

ARIA Information Session

Are you an Arts undergraduate student looking for a research opportunity this summer?

Learn about the Arts Undergraduate Research Internship Awards (ARIA) including eligibility criteria and application procedures.

The purpose of the Arts Research Internship Awards (ARIA) is to support undergraduate students who undertake research during the summer under the direct supervision of a faculty member. The Faculty of Arts will provide Undergraduate Research Internship Awards, each with a value of $2500. These awards are matched by individual faculty members or their departments (in the amount of $2500) to provide a total award of $5000 to the student.

38 Faculty of Arts undergraduate students received $190,000 as recipients of theFaculty of Arts Undergraduate Research Internship Awards (ARIA).

The ARIA Program is supported by the generous contributions from McGill Alumni, the Dean of Arts Development Fund, and the Arts Employment Fund. For more information, please visit /arts-internships/research.

Events

Annual Faculty Of Arts Internship Event

On September 17th, the Faculty of Arts Internship Office held its annual Arts Internship Event at the McGill Faculty Club. In Summer 2024, 145 students received $693,644 as recipients of the Arts Internship Awards and Arts Undergraduate Research Internship Awards (ARIA)! This event celebrated the Faculty of Arts Internship Awards and the achievements of student interns who completed their internships in summer 2024. During this event, returning interns shared their internship experience with the McGill community and generous donors, to inform new Faculty of Arts students about internship opportunities such as the Arts Undergraduate Internship Research Awards (ARIA), Arts Internship Mentorship Initiative Program (AMI), internship academic credit, award applications, and upcoming AIO events.

Annual ARIAEvent

On October 8th, the Faculty of Arts Internship Office held its annual Arts Undergraduate Research Internship (ARIA) Event at the McGill Faculty Club. The poster event showcased the work of 29 Arts undergraduate ARIA recipients that received a total of $145,000.

2024Arts Internship Awards Reception

Dean Lisa Shapiro welcomed the 2024 recipients of the Arts Internship Awards, and the Arts Research Internship Awards, along with members of Faculty and the generous supporters of the Arts Internship Office Endowment Campaign.

Throughout the evening, students heard fromalumni about their past internship experiences and met with the donors whose generous support make these awards possible.
