Admission review process
If you are completing a Canadian provincial high school diploma at a school locateddzܳٲCanada, note that:
- Deadlinesare the same as for applicants from schools outside Canada.
- Transcripts and any other required supporting documents must beuploadedvia the .Proof of English Proficiencymust be submitted directly to McGill by the test provider.
- If you are completing an Ontario diploma and you have an OUAC number, you must still upload your transcript(s).
- If admitted, you are expected to maintain your level of academic performance through to the completion of your pre-McGill studies and be granted the high school diploma.
Admission review is based on McGill’s calculation of youracademic Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses (see menu), including the prerequisites for the program(s) to which you applied.
- Marks for failed/repeated courses are taken into consideration.
- For programs where science and/or math are prerequisites, these must normally have been completed within the last five years.
- Required prerequisites must be completed at the Grade 12 (Ontario 4U) level.
- Grade 11 and Grade 12 (Ontario 3U and 4U) English will be included in the calculation, in addition to any required prerequisite subjects.

Supporting documentation
It is in the applicant’s interest to complete their file as quickly as possible. When program space is limited, preference may be given to applicants who have submitted all required supporting documents/information earlier on. Should a program reach its capacity prior to the ‘supporting documents’ and/or ‘self-reporting’ deadline, incomplete applications may be cancelled.

Proof of English proficiency
Applicants who have lived and attended school, for at least four years, in a country where English is the acknowledged primary language, are not required to provide further proof of English proficiency.
If this is not the case, official test results will be required by the supporting document deadline. Please consultProof of English Proficiencyfor accepted tests and other exemptions.

Additional supporting documents
Certain programs will require additional supporting documents. These could be proof of French proficiency, CASPer test results, recommendation letters, personal statement, or other documents; the requirements will be different depending on the program you are applying to. If your program choice is listed below, please carefully verify the additional requirement(s):
- You have applied toEducation, Music, Nursing, and/or Religious Studies
- You have applied for aMajor Entrance Scholarship and/or Financial Aid
- You selected‘Extenuating Circumstances’on the application for admission
If none of the above apply, additional supporting documents are not considered in the admission review and should not be submitted.
