OIKOS Holistic Sustainable Education Walk
OIKOS Project McGill is running a holistic education walk, or sustainable education walk.
The walk lasts for one hour each Wed afternoon, beginning at 4pm at Gardner Hall and finishing Pine/Peel.
The walk includes a range of activities, to encourage individual awareness and shared insights. We do some bodywork to wake up our interior life and sensibilities to our movement and our surroundings. We make use of nature to provoke memories, new observations and story sharing. We ask participants to reflect on their learning experiences, and the contribution of their education to the collective challenge of sustainability.
The walk gives people an experience of holistic education and will be different each time because of the inter-active nature of the walk and changing nature of the mountain. This is a pilot project, so feedback is very important and we are also seeking individuals who wish to lead and develop the walks, including a wet weather route in underground McGill, that will require a different script.
