Overview

Nursing : Research issues surrounding the measurement of pain throughout childhood. Topics include measurement theory, theoretical and conceptual definitions of pain in children, scale construction, format and scaling issues, reliability, validity, clinical unity, developmental considerations, self-report formats, observational formats, physiological indicators of pain.

  • Prerequisite: Graduate-level course in inferential statistics and graduate or undergraduate course in child development, or permission of the instructor.
