Overview

Nursing : In this course, students will explore the philosophical underpinnings and the evolution of nursing knowledge as a science and an art. Using seminar time as an opportunity for reflection and discussion, the student will analyze and define the interrelationships between a variety of nursing theories, models, and concepts; and will explore the root of his/her own perspective on nursing practice. This course provides an overview of various world views that influence knowledge creation and development within nursing practice. Emphasis will be placed on the McGill model of Nursing and its application to guide approach and practice within the nursing process.
