Ce programme de 15 unit茅s menant 脿 un certificat de deuxi猫me cycle offre aux enseignants non autochtones actifs un perfectionnement professionnel visant 脿 accro卯tre leur efficacit茅 comme enseignant dans les communaut茅s des autochtones. Le programme aborde des sujets particuli猫rement importants dans les 茅coles des autochtones, tels que la socialisation culturelle, les approches d鈥檈nseignement culturellement ad茅quates, l鈥檈nseignement d鈥檜ne langue seconde et l鈥檋istoire des peuples autochtones et de leurs cultures.

EDEC 590 Culturally Appropriate Teaching (3 unit茅s)

Programmes d鈥櫭﹖udes et formation : Principles of cooperative learning and how they may be applied in Indigenous schools to the creation of effective classroom activities and to the development of culturally appropriate learning materials. Referring to culturally grounded learning styles, appropriate teaching styles will be examined. Critical pedagogy will be emphasized.

EDEM 503 Research Seminar In Indigenous Studies (3 unit茅s)

EDEM 脡tudes en sciences de l鈥檃dministration et en politiques publiques en 茅ducation : Provides an opportunity for a more substantial and in depth analysis of a topic of interest in Indigenous education. Strengthens students critical and research skills and deepens their understanding of Indigenous issues. Each step of the research is investigated in the seminar as well as through relevant scholarly readings. The culminating exercise will be the presentation of the research in a panel forum.
