Overview

Private Law 4 : The law of wills and estates from a common law perspective. Topics considered include: intestate succession; interpretation of wills; testamentary autonomy and its limits; formal validity of wills; testamentary capacity and undue influence; revocation of wills; doctrine of lapse; survivorship; spousal protection and dependants' relief; capacity of beneficiaries.
