Overview

History : A social, economic, political and cultural survey of British history from the 'High Victorian' years to the eve of World War II. Topics include: rise of mass politics, women's suffrage, empire (especially Africa), labour movements, World War I, post-war social change, Great Depression, art and culture, and Ireland.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2012-2013 academic year.

  • Prerequisite(s): HIST 214 or permission of instructor

  • Restrictions: Not open to students who have taken HIST 204.
