About
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children, and the University Health Network (UHN) are delighted to host a Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare (SBNH) Symposium in Toronto on September 13, 2023.
The SBNH Symposium will bring together about 200 clinical leaders and emerging leaders from nursing and allied health disciplines across all four organizations. Together, we will explore a shared journey from deficits to strengths and zero in on how we can embrace this strengths-based, value-driven approach. The event will also review existing organizational tools and frameworks, with interactive opportunities to work out how you can integrate this approach in your clinical practice and/or day-to-day leadership. We will end our day reviewing the impact of SBNH and celebrating our successes, including closing conversations with Laurie Gottlieb herself!

General Information
Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare
Laurie Gottlieb and Ï㽶ÊÓƵ have defined Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare (SBNH) as both a philosophy and a value-driven approach guiding clinicians, leaders, and educators to transform healthcare environments through the humanization of care. SBNH is about discovering and developing the strengths within patients, clients, families, communities, and healthcare teams, promoting health and healing while facilitating effective, resilient systems.
