Elizabeth Bernardino, RN, PhD, is director of clinical care at the Hospital de Cl铆nicas Complex and professor of nursing at the Federal University of Paran谩, Brazil. Bernardino supports her doctoral students with integrating SBNH into their research and clinical practice.听听
Paula Encarna莽茫o, RN, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Nursing, University of Minho, Portugal.鈥疭he spearheaded the translation of Professor Laurie Gottlieb鈥檚 game changing book, Strengths-Based Nursing Care: Health and Healing for Person and Family, into Portuguese.听听
During their time at the Ingram School of Nursing, Bernardino and Encarna莽茫o met with ISoN faculty members Annie Chevrier, Heather Hart, Maria Di Feo, and Rosetta Antonacci, as well as staff 听and clinical partners working to advance Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare across education, research, leadership, and practice. Their visit was a valuable opportunity to exchange strategies, challenges, successes, and goals related to the implementation of this human-centered approach to nursing and healthcare.听
