Current research:
I am generally interested in uncovering the mechanisms and neural correlates of human speech communication. Specifically, I look at how extralinguistic information (social identity, intent, emotions, etc.), conveyed by our voices (esp. prosody), influences our semantic processes. Another line of research I am potentially interested in is the ability to distinguish and infer, from neural patterns, people’s communicative intent and emotional states. I aim to solve puzzles of our communicative, social brains from multiple angles through conducting behavioral, physiological, and electrophysiological studies.
