Current research: 

In my PhD I am using electroencephalography (EEG) to study how a person's first language can be forgotten or modified, a process known as first language attrition. I am especially interested in the impact of second language knowledge on first language grammatical processing. To study this, I am recruiting Chinese-English bilingual immigrants in Montreal who report attrition effects in their first language Chinese. I am also collaborating with Professor Hui Zhang at Nanjing Normal University to test additional bilingual and monolingual populations in China.
