The Office of Sponsored Research is pleased to invite McGill researchers and administrators to attend a Webinar given by Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS), on the upcoming New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) – Exploration competition.
The Webinar will include:
Ìý
- A presentation about the requirements of the NFRF Explorations competition at the LOI stage
- A question and answer period
Ìý
Background:
The fund is administered by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS), which is housed within the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), on behalf of Canada’s three research granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and SSHRC.
Ìý
The objective of this competition is to generate opportunities to conduct high-risk, high-reward and interdisciplinary research not available through funding opportunities currently offered by the three agencies. It seeks to inspire projects that bring disciplines together beyond traditional disciplinary or common interdisciplinary approaches by research teams with the capacity to explore something new that might fail, but has the potential for significant impact.
