Indonesian Cultural Night
The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Dienne H. Moehario, with the Schulich School of Music and McGill’s Institute of Islamic Studies, will host a workshop, reception and concert as part of an Indonesia-Canada Cultural Night on November 6. The events are being held in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Indonesia-Canada diplomatic relations.Ìý
McGill will welcome a 50-member delegation of dancers and musicians from the Indonesian Institute of Art, Yogyakarta, and the Indonesian Gondang Orchestra.

They will participate in three events:
2:00 p.m. Gamelan workshop
6:30 p.m. Pre-concert reception with the artists
7:30 p.m. Concert
The artists will present a colourful program of traditional Indonesian dance and musical styles from regions across their multicultural and diverse country. Representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will accompany the performers.Ìý
All sessions are free, open to the public, and take place in Tanna Schulich Hall (527 Sherbrooke Street West). No registration required.Ìý
