Horizon Europe Information Session
This session will be hosted virtually – the link and password will be provided to those from the McGill community who RSVP
The Office of Sponsored Research is pleased to host an information session on , the European Union’s research framework program with a budget of €95.5 billion over seven years (2021 to 2027) and one of the world’s largest research and innovation funding programs.
In 2024 Canada will join Horizon Europe as an Associated Country, allowing researchers in Canada to participate in parts of the program on equal terms with researchers in the European Union and other , i.e. being able to lead and join project consortia in and obtain funding directly from the European Commission.
This information session will present the funding opportunities under Horizon Europe’s Pillar II: Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness as well as other Horizon Europe programs and provide details about the application process and program requirements.
The information session will include presentations from:
- Mary Kavanagh, Senior Expert at the Directorate of Global Approach and International Cooperation, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission;
- Aslin Unlusoy, Counsellor (Science, Technology and Innovation), Mission of Canada to the European Union;
- Prof. Eva Kehayia, Associate Professor, School of Physical & Occupational Therapy, and successful Horizon 2020 applicant;
- The VPRI, Office of Sponsored Research.
Participants will have a chance to take part in a question and answer period where they may raise questions about the program and the application process.
