The Colosseum of Rome is the largest amphitheater in the world. After 8 years of construction, around 50 000 spectators gathered in the Colosseum to watch different sporting events and games. Learn about the materials used to build this ancient sporting arena and the various events that took place, including gladiator combats, wild animal hunts and ship naval battles.
