Dr. Maryam Oskoui Appointed Division Director of Pediatric Neurology

Dr. Maryam Oskoui, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, has been appointed as the Division Director of Pediatric Neurology for a 5-year term.

Currently Interim Director since March 1, 2020, Dr. Oskoui is well known to the Department. A clinician investigator with a background in neuro-epidemiology, Dr. Oskoui currently holds a FRQ-S Junior II salary award and two CIHR operating grants as a principal investigator. Dr. Oskoui is an established international leader in pediatric neuromotor disorders including Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Cerebral Palsy. Dr. Oskoui has formal leadership training through the American Academy of Neurology and is a recognized passionate advocate for her patients.

The timing of her appointment as an Interim Division Director coincided with the challenges of the pandemic, thus offering to clear demonstration to her colleagues and others of her leadership acumen that amply validates her selection to this position.
