What are your thoughts on the extremely controversial CBD and THC substance and compound?

Both cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol are found in the cannabis (marijuana) plant but onlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive, meaning that it does not induce the sensation that people enjoy when they smoke pot. It does, however, have physiological activity that may be useful in the treatment of various disorders ranging from inflammation and anxiety to schizophrenia. There have also been a couple of studies linking CBD to reduced mutiplication of cancer cells but there are many substances that do that, usually never amounting to any clinical significance. Certainly CBD merits more research and may eventually make it into the medical pharmacopia. But if you want marijuana-like effects, don't look to CBD, stick to pot.
