In this week's "COVID-19 and More: Conversations with the McGill Office for Science and Society”, the OSS Team (Joe Schwarcz Jonathan Jarry Ada Marie McVean Emily Shore) welcomed Dr. Paul Offit, Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Vaccine Education Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Offit has published more than 160 papers in medical and scientific journals in the areas of rotavirus-specific immune responses and vaccine safety. He is also the co-inventor of the rotavirus vaccine recommended for universal use in infants by the CDC.
Some of the topics discussed include the development of a coronavirus vaccine and the potential for expedited development, children as vectors, the wearing of face masks, testing, and more.
