The 2024 RASC Montreal Townsend Lecture features Dr. Jonathan Gagné from the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, UdeM & iREx.

Learn about some of the latest discoveries in the study of young stars, brown dwarfs and planemos in the immediate neighborhood of the Sun, many of which were only made possible by recent space missions such as Gaia and TESS.

Dr. Gagné will outline some of the work that is carried out at the Montreal Planetarium, and will discuss a new database of young stars and brown dwarfs that will aid researchers to advance this field further in the era of big data.
