Dr Violaine Marcoux completed her medical degree and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. In 2006, she moved to Toronto to do a fellowship in gynecologic endoscopic surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Leyland at St. Joseph's Health Centre. She practiced at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto as a staff physician and was one of the supervisors of the Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Fellowship Program. Dr Marcoux is completing a Masters Degree in Higher Education at the University of Toronto.
In the fall 2009 Dr Marcoux was recruited by the McGill Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to work at the Jewish General Hospital. Her area of expertise is the surgical management of endometrisis and chronic pelvic pain, as well as fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding using minimally invasive approaches such as laparoscopy or hysteroscopy.
