Open House on February 4

High school and CEGEP students are cordially invited to the McGill Open House, to be held from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 4. "We want to serve our local community in a meaningful way, both by attracting larger numbers of Quebecers to McGill and by ensuring the quality of their experience while studying here," says Robin Geller, Director of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Recruitment and RegistrarÂ’s Office.

Student visitors will come from as far as Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, Lennoxville, Sherbrooke, Granby, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Hull on the free bus service made available to them to and from McGill.

The McGill Open House will offer a variety of activities such as:

  • 20-minute welcome sessions that will be held every twenty minutes from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in Moyse Hall of the Arts Building;
  • Guided walking tours of the main campus led by dynamic McGill students. Tours will begin from the lobby of the Arts Building;
  • Tours of the McGill Athletics Sports Complex will also be available. The Drivesafe service of the StudentsÂ’ Society will be providing a shuttle service to and from the Sports Complex, departing at 15-minute intervals from the University Centre, 3480 McTavish Street;
  • McGillÂ’s 22 faculties and professional schools offer over 300 programs of study. Faculty, staff and student representatives from 11 faculties and 7 professional schools will be available to answer all your questions about what it is like to study in Arts, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Education, Architecture or Nursing, to name but a few of the faculties and schools represented;
  • There is much more to studying at McGill than what goes on in the classroom! Meet the people in charge of students services (First-Year Office, Athletics, Career and Placement Services, Counselling, Financial Aid, Health Services and Off-Campus Housing) as well as representatives from the StudentsÂ’ Society of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ (SSMU) in the Ballroom of the University Centre, 3480 McTavish Street, at 2:00 pm.

Do you have questions about applying to McGill? Do you want to know about scholarships or exchange programs for studying abroad? Come meet the admissions and recruitment officer on a one-to-one consultation in Room 232 of the Leacock Building.

The McGill Open House is a learning opportunity for another category of potential students, those interested in part-time studies. Representatives from the McGill Centre for Continuing Education will be on hand to answer your questions about courses in Management, Languages, Translation, Computer and Internet Technology. Visit them in the Bronfman Building, 1001 Sherbrooke Street West, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
