Legal settlement reached between Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and the Sergent estate
As a result of an interim judgement which suspended the Bloom Enquiry and as a result of the passage of time and extraordinary expense involved in the litigation process which has yet to yield a final judgement, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and the Estate of Justine Sergent have decided to settle by terminating the litigation and the enquiry. The parties recognize that throughout Me Casper Bloom acted competently, professionally and objectively. The proceedings were never intended to question his integrity but were only concerned with the procedural appearance of independence. The parties also recognize the good faith of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in setting up the Enquiry. The Scientific Audit currently being conducted under the aegis of Dr. Marcus Raichle will continue on the basis of a protocol agreed to by Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and the Estate of Justine Sergent.
