Published: 8 December 2011
A former Regina resident continues to wow the opera community. Gordon Bintner, 23, a bass-baritone, sang his way to the top prize at the 72nd edition of the OSM (Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal) Standard Life competition which earned him a $10,000 scholarship when he won the voice category. In addition to placing first in voice, Bintner was also awarded the grand prize at the competition.
“It was very exciting,” he said by phone from Montreal. Bintner is a student at McGill where he is pursuing his master of arts in voice performance. He plans to continue with his studies and is looking forward to the new year.
