The Gazette's Michelle Lalonde: "The only thing I resent more than paying over $100 for a decent pair of running shoes, is chucking them in the garbage after a year or so of training in them. Sure, the treads may be a little worn, but they would still be perfectly good for hiking around in. They don't belong at the dump. That's why I keep my eyes and ears open for projects that collect used shoes for reuse or recycling. Ï㽶ÊÓƵ's Athletics and Recreation department recently teamed up with a group of McGill environmental studies students to launch the Reuse, Resole, Rerun program. It occurs to me that all universities and schools should consider offering such a program…"
