This overactivity may contribute to chronic neurodegeneration and worsen brain disorders. Understanding how this process, called reactive gliosis, is controlled could help scientists better understand brain diseases and improve treatments.
Tue, 03 Sep 2024 15:54:17 +0000 Helen Gemmrich 6151 at /neuro CanNRT Research Forum: Interdisciplinary Approaches in Basic and Clinical Research /neuro/channels/event/cannrt-research-forum-interdisciplinary-approaches-basic-and-clinical-research-357072
Thu, 25 Apr 2024 19:03:53 +0000 justin.martinez-rosler@mcgill.ca 6009 at /neuro Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) – Introductory Workshop (French) /neuro/channels/event/autism-diagnostic-observation-schedule-second-edition-ados-2-introductory-workshop-french-355209 &;;&;;&;;/&;; Fri, 02 Feb 2024 22:31:43 +0000 kenneth.dyson@mcgill.ca 5939 at /neuro WHO Caregiver Skills Training Program: Master Trainer Workshop /neuro/channels/event/who-caregiver-skills-training-program-master-trainer-workshop-342843 &;;&;;&;;/&;; Mon, 17 Oct 2022 15:20:59 +0000 vanessa.tamburro@mcgill.ca 5636 at /neuro A day in the life of a neuropsychologist /neuro/article/day-life-patient-care-neuro-xxceptional/day-life-neuropsychologist Julie Scorah gives us a look into her work at the ACAR Clinic and how the pandemic has changed autism care Tue, 01 Mar 2022 15:06:12 +0000 Anita Kar, Vanessa Tamburro 5363 at /neuro “I love that I have a job that brings good into the world” /neuro/article/patient-care-neuro-xxceptional/i-love-i-have-job-brings-good-world Dr. Mandy Steiman, clinical psychologist and diagnostician, talks about what drives her work, misconceptions about standardized autism assessments and why empathy is key to her practice Thu, 10 Feb 2022 14:11:49 +0000 Vanessa Tamburro 5341 at /neuro Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders, with Dr. Julie Scorah /neuro/article/research/understanding-autism-spectrum-disorders-dr-julie-scorah
Dr. Julie Scorah speaks to McGill Cares (January 27, 2021) about the signs and symptoms of autism, how it is diagnosed, available support options, and what services are available for autistic adults and for parents of autistic children.

Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders
Tue, 20 Aug 2024 17:48:03 +0000 Neuro Communications 6126 at /neuro Dr. Julie Scorah: Barriers To Care For Autistic Children on Curious Neuron /neuro/article/research/dr-julie-scorah-barriers-care-autistic-children-curious-neuron
ACAR Associate Director Julie Scorah speaks to the Curious Neuron podcast about how to make autism resources more accessible to the families that need them.

Where to listen 🎧:
Tue, 20 Aug 2024 17:53:43 +0000 Neuro Communications 6127 at /neuro Language Regression, Communication Development, and Autism /neuro/article/research/language-regression-communication-development-and-autism
In this podcast (May 23, 2022), we talk to Dr. Mandy Steiman, clinical psychologist at the Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR).
Tue, 20 Aug 2024 17:40:23 +0000 Neuro Communications 6122 at /neuro Health Matters, The MUHC Foundation Show /neuro/article/research/health-matters-muhc-foundation-show
Host and Director of Communications & Marketing at the MUHC Foundation Tarah Schwartz showcases powerful patient stories and speaks with the physicians and researchers on the front lines of today’s urgent medical challenges.
