Néstor Nápoles López
I am a Ph.D. student at the Music Technology Area, working under the supervision of professor Ichiro Fujinaga. Inside the Music Technology Area, I am part of the Distributed Digital Music Archives and Libraries Laboratory, where I continuously contribute to an Optical Music Recognition (OMR) workflow. Before attending McGill, I graduated from an MSc in Sound and Music Computing at the Music Technology Group, which is part of Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in Barcelona. There, my research focused on the automatic analysis of functional harmony. Here in McGill, my research interests have extended to Music Information Retrieval (MIR) of tonal features of music (i.e., key and harmony), serious music-based computer games, and Optical Music Recognition (OMR).
