Student Bruno Roy a prize winner at last night's Centre Stage Competition
Bruno Roy, a second yearÌýMasters student of Ben Heppner, has placed third at the Canadian Opera Company's annual voice competition . ÌýThe competition showcases the next generation of opera stars selected from nationwide auditions for the COC Ensemble Studio—Canada’s premier training program for young opera professionals. The competition features the young singers vying for cash prizes ranging in value from $1,500 to $5,000.
Bruno Roy completed his undergraduate degree as a student of Winston Purdy, with whom he also studied for the first year of his masters degree. ÌýThis week heÌýwill performÌýthe role of Brooke in Opera McGill's production of Little Women and will sing the role of Belcore in Elisir d'Amore in January, also with Opera McGill.
