The Aesthetics, Politics, and Pleasures of Queer Collaboration in Jazz 

This multimedia presentation celebrates Professor Lisa Barg’s new book, Queer Arrangements: Billy Strayhorn and Midcentury Jazz Collaboration with an author’s talk, live music, short film screening, and panel discussion. The event will be followed by a reception and book signing. The panel discussion will feature Barg in conversation with Professors Lloyd (Chip) Whitesell and Guthrie Ramsey. Philadelphia-based vocalist and pianist V. Shayne Frederick will sing from the Strayhorn songbook.
