Musicians Performance and Wellbeing | Webinar Series

This webinar series explores ways to support physical and mental performance, and affect culture change in orchestras. This is an initiative of the Musicians Performance and Wellbeing Network led by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic with collaborators Help Musicians, the Applied Performance Sciences Hub at the Schulich School of Music, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, University of Liverpool, British Association for Performing Arts Medicine, Royal Northern College of Music, Liverpool John Moores University, and the Till Project.

What’s in your mind? Myths & realities about supporting mental performance with orchestral musiciansÌýis the second webinar of the Musicians Performance and Wellbeing series. We will share perspectives from (1) performing musicians who have experienced the challenges and benefits of mental performance support, and (2) psychologists and researchers on the myths about mental support, professional qualifications, and the challenges of accessing and embedding what we know about mental performance in professional music practices.

We invite professional musicians, researchers, healthcare professionals and music leaders to join a provocative dialogue on the how to support musicians’ psychological readiness to perform – examining the impact of psychological support in performance careers, challenges in accessing certified providers, and embedding mental performance and mental health provision in professional music contexts.
