Musicians Performance and Wellbeing | Webinar Series

This webinar series explores ways to support physical and mental performance, and affect culture change in orchestras. This is an initiative of the Musicians Performance and Wellbeing Network led by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic with collaborators Help Musicians, the Applied Performance Sciences Hub at the Schulich School of Music, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, University of Liverpool, British Association for Performing Arts Medicine, Royal Northern College of Music, Liverpool John Moores University, and the Till Project.

A symphony of good sense: Supporting physical readiness in orchestral performance is the first webinar of this series. We will discuss perspectives and practices in supporting musicians’ physical readiness from around the world, pedagogical approaches, and how music-support organizations can play a role in supporting initiatives that make a difference and where to start. We will share a toolkit with practical guidance for orchestras that may be considering procuring physiotherapy services to support the physical health of their musicians.

We invite professional musicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and music leaders, to join a provocative dialogue on how to support musicians’ physical readiness to perform, reducing injury risk, improving healthcare provision, and maximizing artistic gains.
