Bachelor's Recital: Galilei Njembo, tenor

Galilei Uajenenisa Njembo (23) is a queer opera singer, composer, and cultural producer from Windhoek, Namibia. A recipient of several schoalrships, bursaries, and awards, he's set to complete a Bachelor of Music at the Schulich School of Music. He's performed with the College of the Arts Youth Choir Namibia, won medals at the 2018 World Choir Games, and sung at prestigious venues. As co-founder of the Namibian Music Ensemble, he supports several young Namibian musicians. Galilei has been cast a soloist in various Opera McGill productions whilst performing internationally, notably in Mexico, Germany, and South Africa. He starred in Namibia's first opera, "Chief Hijangua," with European premieres igniting colonial history discussions.
