Bobby Miglani's Project

Religious and spiritual traditions across the world, though varied in expression, often share a profound truth: the pursuit of love, compassion, and harmony. These universal values transcend differences, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all beings.

The artworkā€”a heart adorned with symbols from various religionsā€”represents this unity. The heart serves as a symbol of compassion, the core of every faith. Each religious symbol within the heart reflects a unique tradition, thoughtfully drawn to honor its essence. Together, they weave a narrative of diversity, harmony, and shared humanity.

A story from Hindu mythology beautifully complements this vision of unity. During the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan), both gods (Devas) and demons (Asuras) worked together to obtain the nectar of immortality (Amrita). Despite being eternal adversaries, they set aside their differences to achieve a shared goal. This tale symbolizes how even opposing forces can unite for a higher purpose, much like humanity coming together in love and understanding despite differences in faith and belief.

This sentiment resonates with the Sanskrit phrase "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (ą¤µą¤øą„ą¤§ą„ˆą¤µ ą¤•ą„ą¤Ÿą„ą¤®ą„ą¤¬ą¤•ą¤®ą„), meaning "The world is one family." It reflects the idea that all beings are interconnected, part of a larger whole. The Bhagavad Gita also echoes this wisdom in the shloka:
"Yo mam pashyati sarvatra sarvam cha mayi pashyati
Tasyaham na pranashyami sa cha me na pranashyati."

(6.30)
"One who sees the divine in everything and everything in the divine is never separated from the divine, nor is the divine ever separated from them."

This verse inspires the recognition of divinity in all beings, fostering mutual respect and understanding among diverse faiths.

The artwork, through its interplay of symbols within a heart, seeks to celebrate the universal values of love, compassion, and harmony. Much like the mythical churning of the ocean, it conveys that unity can emerge from diversity when guided by a higher purpose. It is a humble reflection of the hope that humanity can embrace these shared ideals, creating a tapestry of togetherness and peace.
