ISS Welcoming Event
Overview
This orientation event is organized to welcome the accomplished graduate students in the 2015-2016 cohort of the NSERC-CREATE Training Program on Integrated Sensor Systems. As one of the Program’s goals is to encourage the development of a network of researchers related to sensors, we would like to invite the Supervisors who will be providing multidisciplinary training in integrated sensor systems related topics and professional skills. Our students and professors boast a wide range of specialities including everything from Music Technology to Biomedical Engineering at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Université de Sherbrooke, École Polytechnique and INRS, and we feel that our network can offer great opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
During the orientation session, the participants will be provided information about the goals and expectations including their participation in the upcoming activities, in order for them to fulfill their program requirements. Earlier in the day the students will be attending this year’s first Seminar from 3:00-5:00pm including a presentation on the 'Introduction to Sensor Systems' by Prof. Peter Grutter of McGill’s Department of Physics followed by presentations of last year’s ISS Travel Award recipient’s experiences. The undergraduate students will be presenting their posters, during the event.
