Join us for a 1-day symposium as we mark World Maternal Mental Health Day and discuss perinatal mental health: From molecules to mothering and beyond.

One in five women experiences significant perinatal mental health problems, often with lasting consequences for both mother and child. Untreated, maternal depression and anxiety disorders can have tragic and long-term consequences for both mother and child. Untreated, they affect a woman’s ability to function, thrive and care for her child. Untreated, they affect her foetus’ and child’s long-term development, with long-lasting and detrimental physical, cognitive and emotional outcomes. Beginning before birth, research-backed interventions can make a difference.
