鈥�Advances in molecular diagnostics and new approaches in drug discovery鈥�

The program will include speakers from Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

Day I will focus on molecular diagnostics with an emphasis on metabolomics. Topics:

• The metabolic legacy of SARS-CoV2 (Prof. Elaine Holmes, Australia)
• Metabolomics of cardiometabolic diseases: potential markers of pre-morbidities for Covid-19 (Prof. Marc-Emmanuel Dumas, United Kingdom)
• NMR Based Tools for Clinical and Translational Research (Dr. Manfred Spraul, Bruker, Germany)
• Metabolomics: from raw LC-MS spectra to biological insights (Prof. Jianguo (Jeff) Xia, McGill, Canada)

Day II will focus on new approaches in drug discovery and the FDA-approved Covid-19 drug remdesivir. Topics:

• Early drug discovery in industry and drugging the cancer genome (Dr. Thomas Hudson, Vice-President Abbvie USA & Prof. Vincent Mooser, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Genomic Medicine, McGill, Canada)
• Design of Proteolysis Targeting Chimera 鈥� PROTACs (Prof. Craig Crews, Yale University, USA)
• Breakthrough work on the Covid-19 remdesivir drug (Prof. Matthias G枚鈥媡te, University of Alberta, Canada)
• Selected topics for trainee presentations.
