Governments need to draft pandemic mitigation plans for the short-term, mid-term, and long-term at the same time. In this webinar, former British Columbia Premier Christy Clark shared that our inability to prepare sufficiently resulted in hospital bed scarcity, mismanaged patient care, and preventable deaths. However, there is hope. In learning from past epidemics such as SARS in 2003, and reflecting on various national and provincial responses, Christy Clark believes that Canada can move forward with an improved strategy to combat COVID-19.Â
