Equity discussion group
What: weekly 1h meetings on issues of equity, diversity and inclusion in the mathematical sciences and related fields. Typically, someone does a short informal presentation, followed by discussion.
Who: anyone interested (faculty, grad or undergrad students, postdocs etc)
Where and when: Wednesdays 3:05pm-3:55pm in BURN 1234 (first meeting on Sept 20).
How: join our mailing list (low traffic) to get reminders, online links etc (you will need to be on campus or using McGill's VPN)- or email Rosalie Bélanger-Rioux rosalie.belanger-rioux [at] mcgill.ca (<>) to be added.
Why: To educate ourselves about these issues and find ways to take action to be more supportive of fellow colleagues, students etc in the department.
Pedagogy discussion group
What: biweekly 1h discussion on issues of teaching and pedagogy in the mathematical sciences and related fields. This semester we might visit each other's classrooms and give advice to improve. Come to the first meeting to discuss what you would like to see happen this semester in the group!

Why: To learn about best practices and improve our teaching, whether that be as instructors, TAs, TEAMsters, tutors, course coordinators, etc.
