Equity and Anti-Racism in Academic Life Workshop
These sessions are being offered as part of a pilot project that is a collaboration between the Faculty of Science and the Office of the Provost and Vice Principal (Academic).
This ninety-minute session is intended for faculty members in Physics, Math and Computer Science. The session will explore the place, role and purpose of equity and anti-racism both within our home Departments and Faculties, and across McGill. Participants will examine the differences between direct and systemic discrimination and how each might impact education. They will identify what successful integration of EDI practices could look like in their own academic contexts specifically via case studies, identifying and developing strategies for moving towards these goals. The workshop will be led by Angela Campbell (Associate Provost; Equity and Academic Policy) and Tynan Jarrett (Director; EDI).
The session will be given on four different dates:
- February 24th from 10:30am to noon.
- March 18th, 1pm to 2:30 pm
- April 14, 1pm tp 2:30pm
- May 17, 1pm to 2:30 pm
