Tree removal near the John Abbott College Memorial Field
Published: 17 August 2017
Some of you may have noticed trees being felled near the John Abbott College Memorial Field. Â While we never want to cut trees down, nature sometimes leaves us no choice. Â Four of the trees being taken down this week are rotten oak trees, which pose a safety hazard, and another four are ash trees infected with the emerald ash borer that has been wreaking havoc on Montreal Island in recent years. Â All the trees being removed are being replaced. Â Other trees will get a significant pruning. Â It is likely that more oak trees will need to be felled in future years for the same reasons. Â Thank you for your understanding.
