On February 21, the Margaret A. Gilliam Institute for Global Food Security invites students and faculty to join a special lecture by Martin Webber on Moving to development from food aid-building sustainable agricultural market systems in Eastern Congo.

About the speaker

Martin Webber is executive Vice President and Partner Emeritus of J.E. Austin Associates, an economic development consulting organization based in Washington, DC. He is a leading expert in promoting economic competitiveness, enterprise development, agribusiness performance, and market systems. He is co-author of two books that are widely used in the industry - the FAO Sourcebook, Territorial Tools for Agro-industry Development, and the World Bank's Guide to Value Chain Concepts and Applications - Building Competitiveness in Africa's Agriculture. He was also co-honoured with the "Making a Difference Award" from the alumni of Harvard Business School.
